AIWritingStack is a small team of content marketers who've collectively spent over $10,000 on AI writing tool subscriptions — not because we're generous, but because the only way to know if a tool actually works is to use it on real projects, with real deadlines, for real clients.
We started this site because we kept getting asked the same question: "Which AI writing tool should I use?" The honest answer is always "it depends," and we wanted a place that actually explained what it depends on.
How We Actually Test
Every tool we review goes through the same process:
- 10 blog post drafts across different niches — we measure readability, factual accuracy, and editing time required before publishing.
- Marketing copy tests — Google Ads headlines, email subject lines, product descriptions, and social captions. We assess persuasiveness and brand voice adherence.
- SEO workflow evaluation — generating articles targeting specific keywords and measuring on-page optimization quality.
- Team feature assessment — collaboration tools, brand voice settings, user permissions, and workflow automation.
- Value analysis — comparing what you actually get at each price tier, not just the sticker price.
No tool scores perfectly across every category. We say that in every review because it's true.
How We Make Money
We earn commissions when you sign up for a tool through our links. This is how we fund our testing — subscriptions to 8+ tools at once aren't cheap.
That said: we've passed on tools that offered higher commissions but didn't meet our quality bar. Our recommendations are based on testing, not payouts. If a tool is mediocre, we say so, even if they're paying us well.
